Winston B. Smith

Winston B. Smith, 93, widower of Eva Lynn Smith, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born September 23, 1928, in New Cumberland, West Virginia, to the late M. Ray Smith and Jean Mackey Smith. He was an ordained minister and also a Professor of the Sciences, basketball coach, and mentor to students at Asbury University for years. Survivors include two sons, Stuart Smith (Susan), Stephen Smith (Lisa) and a daughter, Shannon Neyman (Andy), a sister, Shirley Rae Sims, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Wilmore Free Methodist Church with Pastor Daryl Diddle officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Wilmore Cemetery. Bearers will be Shane Smith, Sean Smith, James Winston Neyman, Joel Mathias, Justin Atkins and Will Shouse.
