William Walter Smith

William Walter Smith, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Lexington Premier Nursing Home in Lexington, Kentucky. Willie was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky, on February 19, 1951, to the late Everett Smith and Lula Burton Smith. William was a farmer and a junk man. Survivors include a sister, Bessie Smith; a brother, Clarence Smith; two Aunties, Mamie Smith Prentice and Ester Burton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Pastor Moses Radford officiating. The visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Ebeneezer Cemetery. Bearers will be Virgil Mitchell, Clarence Smith, Jr., Wayne Richardson, Bernard Cartwright, Purnell Smith, and Marcus Taylor.
