William Clyde Simpson, Jr.

William Clyde Simpson Jr., 73, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on February 10, 1953, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late William and Katie Simpson. He spent his life devoted to his wife and his children.

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of music, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family, watching sports, working outside, and telling stories to his grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Sharon Simpson; his children, Sean Simpson and his wife, Heather, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Rhiannon Minke and her husband, Kevin, of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Justin Simpson and his wife Jaquie, of Lexington, Kentucky; and Joshua Simpson and his wife Kari, of Lexington, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Tristin Simpson, Parker Simpson, Quinn Ardery, Christian Ardery, Bradley Simpson, William Ardery and Treasure Minke.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Simpson

More than anything, Bill loved his family. His greatest joy was being a husband, dad, and grandfather, and his family will forever cherish the time they were blessed to have with him. His love, stories, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Betts and West Funeral Home. The service will follow the same day from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
