William R. Jackson, Jr.

William R. Jackson, Jr., 79, widower of the late Irene Jackson, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 8, 1945, to the late William R. Jackson and Katherine Ann McDowell Jackson. William worked in construction and as a dispatcher for the City of Wilmore. He enjoyed playing the organ for his family. Survivors include a nephew, Billy Jackson, a niece, Sharon Jackson, an uncle, Clay Tankersley, as well as cousins, other family, and friends. The family chose cremation for his service with a graveside burial in Wilmore Cemetery, where he will be buried beside his brother, Barry, and other family members. Services will be held at Wilmore Cemetery on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Chaplain Dale Adams officiating. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve William and his family.
