Wanda Collins

Wanda Collins, 97 years old, widow of the late Luke Collins, passed away November 27, 2022. She was the daughter of Joseph Howard Ritchie and Elsie Mattox Richie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Collins, for 41 years, a sister, Anita Evelyn Mynear, a brother, Hisel Ritchie, and two children, Charlotte Sue Collins and Gregory Allen Collins. She is survived by three granddaughters, Ashley Merritt Johnson (Daniel), Candace Collins, and Camille Velasco (Joshua), seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Edwards, Haven Edwards, Savannah Tolson, JT Tolson, Mia Velasco, Jackson Velasco, and Eli Velasco, as well as a special niece, Joyce Faye Conley, many nieces and nephews in the Collins family, and many friends. She spent her last twelve years at Wesley Village. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church, where she was active for many years. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where pallbearers will be Richard Collins, Daniel Johnson, Joshua Velasco, Terry McFarland, Barry Howard, and Jason Smith. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Wanda and her family in their time of need.
