Nicholasville

Toby M. Rosenthal, 84, passed away at her home in Nicholasville, Kentucky, on Saturday, September 4, 2026, and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Arnold.

Born in Miami, Florida, Toby lived most of her adult life in Brookeville, Maryland, alongside Arnold. Together, they raised three sons while working together in the floor covering business.

Toby is survived by her eldest son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Karen Rosenthal, and her grandchildren, Jenna and Eric; her middle son, David Rosenthal; and her youngest son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Pam Rosenthal.

Toby had a remarkable talent for needlepoint and knitting, crafting many beautiful sweaters and blankets for family and friends. Her passion for her craft even led her to owning and operating a needlepoint store in Olney, Maryland, during the 1970s.

Toby was also an avid sports fan. She enjoyed playing golf in her younger years with Arnold and later loved cheering on the pros on television, enjoying tennis, and rooting for (and sometimes lamenting) the Washington Commanders/Redskins.

Among her favorite memories were many trips to Nassau, Bahamas, a beloved getaway where she and Arnold were warmly embraced by the local community.

Toby had a rare gift for touching the heart of everyone she met. Above all, she adored her boys—who, in her eyes, could do no wrong.

Final arrangements are currently being planned, and the family asks that you keep Toby in your thoughts with a warm smile and remembrances of her compassionate heart.
