Thomas Edmund Shaner, age 64, husband of Brenda Sue Harlow Shaner, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on October 9, 1961, to the late Donald Shaner and Joanne Turner Shaner. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ashley (Kyle) Birkland; a son, Dallas (Belinda) Kerby; and four grandchildren: Kaylin Wahlin, Roman Wahlin, Kendall Kerby, and Teagan Kerby. Additional survivors include two sisters, Cathi (Terry) Rowlison and Susan “Missi” (Dirk) Harris, and a brother, Steve (Lisa) Shaner. Thomas worked as a corrections officer for the United States government and was a United States Army Veteran. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4-8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve Thomas and his family in their time of need.
