Shirley Jane Steenbergen

Shirley Jane Steenbergen, age 74, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away at St Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born on December 28, 1951, in Barren County, Kentucky, to the late Erbie and Delia Byrd Riddle. She graduated from Temple Hill School and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. She retired from the Jessamine County Health Department. Shirley loved life. She was happy, free-hearted, always giving to others. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Steenbergen; one son, Houston; and his wife, Shannon. Additional survivors include a brother, David Riddle, and a special niece, Gail Lenhoff. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Robert, Kenneth, and Stanley Riddle, a sister, Betty Madison, and two nephews, Alan and Michael Riddle. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral, with Brother Jay Webb officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:30 AM on Thursday until the time of service. The burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where his friends and family will serve as bearers.
