Roger Lee McBeath, 74, husband of Rita Faye Montgomery McBeath, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home in Georgetown. He was born in Danville on March 2, 1948, to the late Marlet McBeath and Ila Randolph McBeath. In addition to his wife, Rita, Roger is survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth McBeath (Doug Moore); sons, Roger Lee McBeath Jr., Charles Marlet McBeath (Kristin Riedi), and James William McBeath (Stacia); sister, Judy Garner (Gary); grandchildren, Margaret Elise Moore, Liam James McBeath, and Peyton Darrell McBeath; as well as his very special dog, Mia. He is preceded by his parents, Marlet and Ila, and five siblings. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 17, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Bro. Mickey Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery in Somerset, with family and friends serving as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Buddy Sherrow, James "Mel" Shelton, and Jim Gaines. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
