Raymond Thomas Vest

Raymond “Tommy” Vest, 81 of Crab Orchard, KY, went to be with his Savior on June 19th, 2026. Loving husband of JoAnn (Hager) Vest for 37 years. He was born in the fall of 1944 in Cynthiana, KY. He is survived by his daughter Tammy Kelty (Steve) Gazikas, granddaughters, Elizabeth Doolin (Josh Price) Lyons and Kathryn Doolin (Jacob) Johnson, great grandchildren; Isaac (Destiny) Lyons, Emma Lyons, Jakob Lyons, and Aidan Price; MaryElla Johnson, Caroline Johnson, and Waylon Johnson, great-great granddaughters, Wrenley Bingham and Kensley Lyons, two brothers, James (Carol) Vest and Phillip (Diana) Vest, and several special nieces, nephews and cousins as well. He was preceded in death by both parents, Raymond D. and Tillie (Irvin) Vest; son, Len Doolin; nephew, Kelly Vest; and special cousin, Alice Witt. Tommy retired from Dixie Cup as a supervisor after over 30 years of service. He spent parts of his retirement as the shift manager of the pro shop at Peninsula Golf Course. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, and basketball. He was part of the 10th Region championship team at Harrison County under Coach “Jock” Sutherland and was an avid sports fan throughout his life. He loved attending vintage car shows and collecting die-cast models of his favorite cars. He also enjoyed riding and showing horses. Tommy was a lifelong member of Silas Baptist Church in Cynthiana, KY, and attended Gilbert’s Creek Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, KY. Services will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
