Together, they lived in Lexington, KY with their four children. In 2019, she took on a new adventure moving to Dayton, Ohio.
Phyllis had a beautiful singing voice and was never without music playing, especially at Christmas, and was a long time member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Choir. She had variety of careers, including accounting and book keeping for the family business. She never met a dog she didn't love and was a life long advocate for the Lexington Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, as well as her husband, Jerry Phelps. She is survived by sons, Michael Phelps (Nichole Scoggins), Jerry (Bonnie) Phelps, daughters Rosemary (William) Petty, Annette Baker, as well as 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
