O’Neal Hager, 82, widower of Wanda Lois Preston Hager, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022, at his home in Lancaster. He was born in Jessamine County on July 6, 1940, to the late Leroy Hager and Alberta Burton Hager. He was a farmer as well as a self-employed truck driver at O’Neal Hager Hauling. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jeffery O’Neal Hager (Rebecca), and Steven Wayne Hager (Sherri); daughter, Karen Jane Hager; brothers, Ed Hager (Pat), Bronce Hager, and Ricky Dale Hager (Debbie); sisters, Linda Casey, JoAnn Vest (Tommy), and Ethel Bailey (Jim); grandchildren, Jessica Lane (James), Justin Hager (Kendall), and Zachary Collins; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Allen, Alexandra Allen, and Haylin Hager; as well as his dogs, Red, Jed, and Molly. Services will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, December 23, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Mickey Stinnett officiating. Visitation will be the evening prior, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve the Hager family in their time of need.
