Michael Fredrick Johnson, 82, husband of Bobbie Jean Johnson, of Wilmore, passed on to glory on May 7, 2026. He was born on September 6, 1943, in Wilmore, Kentucky, to the late Wallace and Christine Johnson, and grew up in High Bridge. He retired from The Trane Company, where he worked as a Fin Press Operator for 40 years. After his retirement, he worked for the Bluegrass Sportsman’s League, where he was a life-long member. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with family, and tinkering with all sorts of things. He loved to go to yard sales and flea markets, was a collector, and loved a good trade or deal. He was a member of Wilmore Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. He also served on the Wilmore Community Service Center Board and the High Bridge Festival Committee. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Jean, two daughters, Julie Michelle Johnson and Shannon Cochrane Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, and other family members. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Morgan “Muggs” Johnson. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Wilmore Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Beth Garrod-Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow in Wilmore Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church.
