Mary Ruth Reed Smith

Nicholasville-Mary Ruth Reed Smith, 76, widow of William Porter -Billy- Smith, died April 25, 2010. She was a member of the Pax Christi Catholic Church and Right to Life of Central Kentucky. She was a former employee of Rand McNally. Survivors inclue five children, Diana (Ramon) Maldonado, Paula and Nancy Smith-all of Lexington, Danny P. (Barbara) Smith-Nicholasville, Arnold C. (Denise) Smith-Richmond, seven grandsons, five granddaughters, sixteen great grandchildren, a brother, Raymond L. Reed and a sister, Ann Issac, a sister in law, Nancy J. (Fred) Shockley. She was preceded in death by a grandson, a great grandson and two brothers, Charles and James Ray Reed. Services will be 10:30am Friday at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Lexington. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8:30pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 8:30pm.
