Mary Louise Shearer

Mary Louise Shearer, 94, widow of James Philip Shearer, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Jessamine County on August 12, 1928, to the late Virgil Preston and Ruby Rose Preston. Mary worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Franklin Manor. She is survived by her son, Michael Shearer; daughters, Linda (Ronald) Douglas, Susan (Kenny) Hatton, Pam (Mike) Borders, and Phyllis (Rudy) Flannery; sister, Pauline Holzer; fourteen grandchildren; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, James, she is preceded by two brothers and one grandson. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 14, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Ronnie Mounts officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, with grandsons serving as bearers. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Mary and the Shearer family in their time of need.
