Luther Jennette Bruner

Luther Jennette Bruner, age 96, of Jessamine County, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Nicholasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 11, 1929, in Jessamine County, Kentucky, to the late Jesse Walden Bruner and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Stinnett Bruner. Luther married the love of his life, Frances Brumfield, on March 9, 1947. Their 50 years of marriage were filled with God, love, and many blessings until her passing on May 27, 1988. He was a lifelong farmer and a dedicated employee of Jessamine County. He was also a proud fan of U.K. basketball. Luther was a proud father of four sons and two daughters, and a loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family. He is survived by two sons, Luther Clay Bruner (Sue), and Robert Bruner (Tammy), six grandsons, Aaron Bruner (Meredith), Jeremy Bruner (Amy), Bryan Bruner, Justin Jasper (Gena), Tyler Bruner (Hannah), and Chris Bruner (Cayelin), Kenzie Halsell, Alex Halsell (Alyssa). He leaves behind his granddaughters, Crystal Kunglal, Tracy Jo Bruner, Sabrina Bruner Coffey (Ben), Renee Jasper (Jason), Paula Miller (Rick), Kandice Durbin (Wayne), Rachael Fister (Matt). Additional survivors include two daughters-in-law, Donna Bruner and Debbie Bruner, a sister-in-law, Sue Holt, along with many extended family members and loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Pauline Brumfield Bruner. His sons, Tony Bruner and David Ray Bruner. His daughters are Peggy Bruner Stinnett and Elizabeth Ann Bruner. His grandson, Lucas Bruner. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Shirley Bruner, Henry Bruner, Lucy Bruner Bowles Shearer, Gladys Bruner, Jadie Bruner, Christeen Bruner, Homer Bruner, Roberta Bruner Perkins, Paul (Mousey) Bruner and Lorene Bruner Patterson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. The burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron, Jeremy, and Bryan Bruner. Justin Jasper, Tyler, and Chris Bruner. Honorary pallbearers will be Crystal Kunglal, Tracy Joe Bruner, Sabrina Bruner, Renee Jasper, Debbie Bruner, Donna Bruner, and Sue Holt. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.
