Lillard Thomas Wright passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born in Payne’s Depot, KY, on January 25th, 1933.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lewis Wright and Ella Elizabeth Wise Wright, his brother Raymond (infant), his sister Myrtle, his sister Ann, and his brother Daniel Wright Jr., a daughter, Patrica, and a daughter, Paula.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Cecil Wright, a daughter, Kimberly Wright Taylor (Robert, aka ‘Bear’), and a daughter, Janice Gregory (Doug). A special nephew, Rodney Dunn (Sandy), and a special niece, Priscilla Buckley (Albert Jr).
He served in the US Army for 8 years. He was stationed in Germany, South Korea (post-war time), and Fort Meade, Maryland. He was a Sergeant, Military Police.
His work history included Nuchols Horse Farm in Woodford County in his early life. After the army, he worked for the Department of the Interior- Water Pollution, and 20+ years at Don Jacobs Oldsmobile. In his early retirement, he worked at High Point Golf Course.
Pallbearers will be Robert Taylor, Kenney Houston, Jeff Singleton, Chad Buckley, Wendell Davis, Mark Corman, Adam Teater, and Greg Hisle
Honorary Pallbearers are Rodney Dunn and Albert Buckley Jr.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, at Betts and West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, KY. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, with visitation taking place prior to the service. The visitation is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
