Jean Matiskella Fawcett

April 2, 1935 — May 2, 2021

Jean Matiskella Fawcett, 86, passed away May 2, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. Jean always kept family first in her life, making sacrifices for those she loved. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Joe, and they enjoyed 55 loving years together with their children and grandchildren.
Jean raised Regina, Joe, Chris and Stephen assuring each had all they needed. She supported all her children with love beyond measure. She taught them how to live a full and rich life.
Jean loved her grandchildren and taught all of them to count by playing cards, one of her favorite pastimes. She looked forward to weekly card games with her friends at Saint Luke Catholic Church.
Jean was known for her hospitality. She enjoyed preparing meals and all enjoyed her spaghetti and homemade meatballs. She was known for her macaroni and potato salad, as well as many homemade desserts.

Jean was very devoted to her church. She was a faithful member in all aspects. She helped with the Lenten fish fry, Christmas Bazaar, fall festival, and regularly traveled to Thompson Hood Veterans Center for weekly BINGO games. Additionally, Jean and Joe were ushers and helpers during the weekly Mass.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents John and Anne Matiskella, brother Paul Matiskella and sister Susan Kendall. She is survived by her children, Regina Rice (Billy), Joseph Fawcett (Sun), Chris Fawcett (Cindy) and Stephen Fawcett (Yonel) as well as brother Danny Matiskella (Betty) and sister Joan Kaub.
