James Edward Smith, 74, husband of Etta Hendricks Smith, of Astor Place, died May 7, 2012. Survivors include three children, Thomas Smith, Tammy Smith and James (Adrianne) Hayhurst, a grandchild, Chandler Hayhurst, a brother, John Smith, two sisters, Anna Smith Parker and Susan Crothers, several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:30pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11am-1:30pm Thursday.
