Ida Katherine Becknell Stipe

Ida Katherine Becknell Stipe, 78,widow of Ray Allen Stipe, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at her home on Short Shun Road. She was born July 7, 1931 in Jessamine County to the late Hugh and Goldie Reynolds Becknell. Ida was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors are a daughter, Elizabeth (Lester) Watts, special aunt, Eudel (Homer) Reynolds Kurtz, two nieces, Darlene (Chuck) Tyler and Linda Cloud, cousins, Sheila (Lin) McCuddy, Phyllis (Bady) Muncy, Jean (Robert) Miller, Bobby Becknell, Wayne (Linda) Becknell, Patrick -Tom- Becknell and Becky Cunningham. Services will be 12:30 pm Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Becknell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home Bearers will be Duane and Mitch McCuddy, Kenny Willoughby, Bobby Collins, Chuck Tyler and Brent Muncy. Honorary bearers will be Anthony Ervin, Lin McCuddy, Earl Peel R.J. Corman, Robert Miller and Bobby Carson. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
