George Harris

George Harris, 84, husband of Barbara Sue Adams Harris, of Edgar Lane, Versailles, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at his home. He was born in Fayette County on December 1, 1936, to the late James and Elizabeth Hamm Harris. He retired from Slone’s Market and also worked for Kroger as a meat cutter. George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by one son, Joseph Kyle Harris, one daughter, Angela Dawn Harris, and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry L. Utt II officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be Jason Adams, Holly Adams, Darrell Boblett, David Cartwright, Joe Cartwright, and Arnold Cramer. Honorary bearers will be Joe Fletcher, Robert Wayne Taylor, and George E. Adams. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
