Gary Lee Lay, 56, of Rainbow Drive in Nicholasville, Kentucky passed away, on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on July 28, 1967, to Garnett Lee (Lena) Lay and Terry Whaley Tubbs. Gary was a dedicated farmer and loved hunting, fishing, and riding around the farm with his best friend Buck. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Glendon (Lindsey) Lay, and Austin Hill, two daughters, Lyndsey (Sean) Adkins, and Rachael Lay, his girlfriend, Tina Ballard, seven grandchildren, Hudson Lay, Everly Lay, Lucas Adkins, Noah Adkins, Nevaeh Baker, Ava Adkins, and Caleb Adkins, four brothers, Jeff Lay, Kevin (Lesley) Lay, Eric Tubbs, and Rodney McKinley, six sisters, Jennifer (Marshall) Riddell, Kimberly Lay, Tina (Richard) Schick, Gena Lay, Pennie (Scott) Jones, and Stacey (Shane) Ware, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members to mourn his passing. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at New Hope Fellowship Church with Pastor Richard Stipe officiating. A burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles, Kentucky. Bearers will be Glendon Lay, Bo Dotson, Mark Lay, Malachi Lay, Eric Tubbs, and Kevin Lay. Honorary bearers will be Chris Sanders, Sean Adkins, Stephan Hunter, Jeff Lay, Keelyn Brown, and Edward Lay. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the church.
