Eugenia “Jenny” Louise Stogdill, wife of Gary Stogdill, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on March 10, 1950, to the late Forest Wendell Burton and Eugenia Louise Lee Burton. She was a faithful servant at her church. She loved to craft and loved her dogs. Her passion was cooking and she had catered for years. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Angie (David) Freeman; son, Jay (Johnetta) Taylor; grandchildren, David Michael Freeman, Heather (Zack) Parrish, Justin Taylor, Dakota Taylor, Shelby Taylor, and Summer Cain; four great-grandkids, Lily, Avery, Wyatt, and Elijah; sisters, Brenda Hellard, Bonnie Burton, Donna Noe, and Diana Giles; brothers, Clay (Gwen) Burton, Ricky (Maggie) Burton, Bobby (Donna) Burton, Ronnie (Donna) Burton, and Jeff (Jenny) Giles; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenia and Forest Burton; two brothers, Forest “Butch” Burton, and Larry Burton; and one sister, Debbie Schafer. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 12:00 PM, Friday, March 24, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Pastor Richard Stipe officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at New Hope Fellowship Church immediately following the graveside services.
