Elizabeth Abigail Chatham

Elizabeth “Betsy” Abigail Chatham, 45, passed July 31,2026. She was born August 13, 1980, to Victor Chatham and Grace Lowry Chatham Woods. Betsy is survived by her parents, Grace Woods of Nicholasville, and Victor Chatham of Alabama, beloved aunts Billie Goodwill and Georgia Moore, dear cousins Jason and Heather Goodwill, Ellias, Ellery, and Beverly Goodwill, John Robert Veillard, half sister Claire Burkett, and many other special family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Maggie Chatham, and her grandparents William and June Lowry and victor and Juanita Chatham, and her stepfather Don Woods.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, at Betts and West funeral home. The service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday , August 6, with Sean Gaffney officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Betsy was a ray of sunshine in the lives of so many. She loved teaching and hosting trivia. She treasured her friendships from high school days in band and soccer, and college friends from Phi Mu. She enjoyed her coworkers on a cruise ship circling Hawaii and work friends from other locations, most recently at the Lexington Soccer Center. Betsy loved having a good time, whether it was planning an event for her sorority, or creating costumes and customs for holiday and family events, or spending a night with friends for karaoke. She touched many lives, and we will always miss her. Memorial contributions are suggested in honor of Betsy to your favorite charity
