Earnie Lee Sams, 75, husband of Brenda Sue Smith Sams, of Ilhardt Avenue, Nicholasville, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at his home. Earnie was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 11, 1950, to the late George Clarence Sams and Loraine Russell Sams. He worked as an auto mechanic and retired from Paul Miller Ford after 50 years of service. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Nicholasville for over 30 years. Earnie loved spending time with all his family. He is survived by Brenda, his loving wife of over 57 years, three daughters, Angie (Tim) Lowry, Jessie (Gary) Davis, and Becky (Aaron) Burge, six grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) Lowry, Ali (Charles) Lockaby, Beth (Alex) Goodwin, Zach Burge, and Max Burge, and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Lowry, Harper Lowry, and Jacob Lockaby. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ray Sams. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, with Pastor Tommy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers will be Tim Lowry, Gary Davis, Aaron Burge, Justin Lowry, and Bobby Sams. Honorary Bearers will be Zach Burge, Max Burge, Alex Goodwin, and Charles Lockaby. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the church.
