Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy Sarah Anne Johnson died on July 24, 2025 in Wilmore, Kentucky. Dorothy was 86 years old.

Dorothy, daughter of the late Willard Joseph Van Dinter and Gladys Sachs Van Dinter, was born October 17,1938, in Kelso, Washington. Upon graduation from Kelso High School she worked briefly as a secretary before meeting and marrying Herman D. Johnson of Longview, Washington. The two were happily married for 65 years and enjoyed raising their family in Longview. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Shields, and three brothers, William Van Dinter, Charles Van Dinter, and Dewey Van Dinter. She is survived by brothers Daryl Van Dinter and his wife Debi and Raymon Van Dinter and his wife Jill.

Dorothy is also survived by her children, Lorrie Liversedge and husband Stephen of Wilmore, KY, Betsy Johnson of Olympia, WA, Stephen Johnson and wife Sheryl of Kent, WA and Cynthia Setel and husband Philip of Seattle, WA, along with twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Washington State.
