David Ray McCollum

It is with great sadness that the family of David Ray McCollum, age 49, announces his passing. David passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2025, at St. Joseph Jessamine in Nicholasville, Kentucky. David was a resident of Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born on April 14, 1976, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late John Keith McCollum and Peggy Irene Hudson McCollum. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Johnson McCollum, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Matthew Keith McCollum, two brothers, Ernest McCollum and Johnny McCollum. Those who knew him lost a shining light in their lives. David was a free-spirited soul with a big heart. We wish for him to be remembered for the good times you shared and his mischievous grin. While we are devastated that his life was cut short, we choose to cherish the memories of his bright smile and kind soul. He is now at peace. Private visitation and funeral services will be held at Betts & West Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery.
