David Edward Carson

Dec 19, 1969 — Sep 9, 2026

Wilmore

David Edward Carson, of High Bridge, Kentucky, passed away at his home on September 9, 2026. Born December 19, 1969, David was the son of W. E. Billy Carson and Georgia I. Carson. He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Carson. David is survived by his wife, Alverta Lee Deering-Carson; his sons, Caleb Edward Carson (Karen) and David Kyle Carson (Dafne Correa); his mother, Georgia I. Carson; and his sister, Amy Carson-Johnson. David was an electrician by trade and a proud member of IBEW Local Union 369. He was known throughout his life for his remarkable work ethic, his determination, and his belief that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing right. He could be stubborn and particular, but those who knew him understood it came from the high standards he held for himself and his work. Although he took great pride in his career as an electrician, David’s farm held a special place in his heart. He loved working with his hands, building and repairing things, caring for his property, and above all, providing for his family. David shared nearly his entire adult life with his wife, Lee. Together since 1989 and married in May of 1993, they built a home, raised their family, and shared a life defined by hard work, devotion, and commitment to one another. To his sons, Caleb and Kyle, David was not only their father but also their teacher and example. He taught them the value of hard work, responsibility, perseverance, and taking pride in what they do. Those lessons, along with the countless things he taught throughout his life, will continue through them. David faced his battle with cancer with the same strength and determination that defined the rest of his life. His faith remained important to him, and his family finds comfort in knowing that faith stayed with him until the end. David leaves behind a legacy seen not only in his family and the farm he loved, but also in the many electricians and tradesmen he influenced throughout his years in the trade and the union. He will be remembered for his strength, his work ethic, his particular way of doing things, and the example he set for everyone privileged to know him. Services will be at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home, with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow at Carson Family Cemetery.
