Claude Slusher, 84, husband of Helen Wagner Slusher, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky. Claude was born on May 9, 1942, in Pineville, Bell County, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Miranda Slusher. He retired from Trane Company after many years of service. Claude enjoyed spending time at B&B Bait Store, talking with family and friends, fishing, gardening, making canes, mowing, feeding and watching the birds, watching cornhole, and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation. Above all, he loved his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Helen; his daughter, Wendy; his son, Kent Slusher and his wife, Stacey; and his grandchildren, Ben Gilliam and his girlfriend, Priscilla, and Lily, Luke, and Zeke Slusher. He is also survived by one sister, Betty Webb. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer, Everett, Frank Jr., Woodrow, and Lester Slusher; and his sisters, Dorothy, Lucy, Lillian, and Ardith. Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, at Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville. Pastor Brent Spears will officiate.
