Christina Peel, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and lives she touched along the way.
Christina was a truly loving and devoted mother and a caring and giving person. She had a heart for her family and for others, and she was always willing to give of herself to help someone in need. Her love was felt not only through the words she spoke, but through the countless things she did for the people she loved.
Most importantly, Christina loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, throughout her life. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of the Lord she loved so dearly.
Christina was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Hannah Grubbs and Camel Smith, her siblings Beacheal Smith, Jabe Smith, Abe Smith, Shorty Smith, Luthier Smith, Ollie Dotson, and beloved grandson Cody Slusher.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and whose lives will forever be changed by her absence.
Christina is survived by her children:
Tim Slusher and his wife, Amy, her oldest son, along with his daughter, Keisha, and his grandchildren, CJ and Jackson;
Jr. Slusher and his wife, Karen, and his children Sharon and Jarrett, along with his five great-children, Kaylee, Casey, William, Kash, and Waylon;
and Daryl Slusher and his wife, Andrea, and his children Aaron Slusher and Hannah Slusher.
Christina is survived by her sister, Lena Lay, Garnett Lay, a loving brother in-law, and her brother, Cecil Smith, special friend Steve Landis, along with many other loving family members and friends.
She held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, including Gena Lynn Lay, Sheila Dotson, and Bo Dotson.
Christina’s family will forever remember her loving heart, her generosity, her caring spirit, and the love she gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave us will never leave us. Her memory will live on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
She may no longer walk beside us, but she will forever live within our hearts.
Until we meet again, Mom.
Rest peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus.
