Bonnie Johnson Morton

Bonnie Morton, 94, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 1, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Madison County, Kentucky, to the late Neal Johnson and Randa Wise Johnson. Bonnie was a graduate of Kingston High School in Richmond, Kentucky, and resided in Nicholasville for most of her life. She was a faithful member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and found great pleasure in caring for her beautiful flower garden.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ralph Witt (Carolyn), daughter, Barbara Isham (Brian), stepdaughter, Connie Harvey(Barry Joe), stepson, Tony Morton (Geraldine); her grandchildren, Bryan Witt ( Amy), John Duncan (Kimberly), Ashlee Ellinger (Joshua); great grandchildren, Lily Ellinger, Nate Ellinger, Carson Ellinger, Henry Duncan, August Duncan and Hudson Witt; nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morton; six brothers; one sister; and stepson, Dale Morton. A service to honor and celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Betts and West Funeral Home. Visitation hours are 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 8. Burial will take place on Monday, May 11, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
