Betty Jean Carroll Drury, 89, widow of Howard McClean Drury, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at her home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She was born in the Keene area of Jessamine County, Kentucky, on October 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Henderson Owen Carroll and Alice B. Gumm Carroll. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her home and family, as well as working on the family farm with her loving husband, Howard. She was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she was secretary for 27 years and pianist for 55 years. She, along with her husband, Howard, was a caretaker of the church for 37 years. Survivors include three sons, Ricky (Cheryl) Drury, Michael (Cindy) Drury, and Stephen (Vicky) Drury, and her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Lear Drury. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Drury, Candice (Eldon) Cheek, John (Kaylon) Drury, Billie Jo Fitzpatrick, Mindi (Brian) Fortner, Jessica (Billy) Zimmerman, Randi Drury, Adam (Liz) Drury, Austin (Hannah) Drury, Aaron Drury, Matthew True, Josh True, and Scottie True, 17 great-grandchildren, Terri Lynn Drury, Lee Drury, Callie Cheek, Charles Cheek, Jay Drury, Rhett Drury, Brooks Drury, Rylee Drury, Jacob Drury, Landon Fortner, Madison Zimmerman, Will Zimmerman, Walker Luttrell, Stratton Drury, Chloe Eversole, Brinley True, and Gunner True, and two great-great-grandchildren, Willow Zimmerman, and Dallas Wren. In addition to her husband, Howard, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry McClean Drury; three brothers, Edward Lewis Carroll, Cecil Carroll, and Leon Carroll; and two sisters, Ruth Carroll and Martha Carroll. The services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Chaplain DeWayne Brewer and Pastor Jay Webb officiating. The burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens with Adam Drury, Austin Drury, Aaron Drury, Jason Drury, John Drury, Jacob Drury, Landon Fortner, and Will Zimmerman serving as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Jessica Zimmerman, Madison Zimmerman, Billie Jo Fitzpatrick, Mindi Fortner, Candice Cheek, Callie Cheek, Terri Lynn, and Randi Drury. The visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Betts & West Funeral Home.
