Bettie Jean Humphrey

Bettie Jean Carter Humphrey, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky, on June 4, 1933, to the late Morris Carter and Flossie Stinnett Carter. Bettie was a retired employee of Sargeant and Greenleaf in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and a member of Nicholasville Christian Church. Bettie is survived by her special friends, Teresa and Tommy Welch, three great nieces, Elizabeth Ann Carter, Tammey Carter, and Billie June Wilson, and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Jean Humphrey, a brother, William S. Carter, a sister, Dorothy Carter, and a nephew, Billy D. Carter. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Lon Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where pallbearers will be Roy Stinnett, Billy Stinnett, Tommy Welch, William Crawford, Dwight Willis, and Garry Comley.
