Beatrice Mae Roushey Van Valin**, born on December 27, 1927, made her journey to heaven on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was a long-term resident of Wilmore, KY but lived many places as she served in Christian ministry alongside her husband, Clyde Van Valin, pastor and bishop in the Free Methodist Church.
She was a mother to five children—
- daughter Carolyn (Marc) Dock
- son Wendell (Robbie) Van Valin
- daughter Martha (Steve) Beeson
- daughter Luella (Steve) Pavey
- daughter Loretta (Phil) Rarick
She was a grandmother to Marie Bates, Amy Bowman, Jenny McIlrath, Bethany Miller, Jacob Van Valin, Audrey Felger, Daniel Beeson, Kevin Rarick, and Christopher Rarick, and great-grandmother to eighteen great-grandchildren. She was also great-great-grandmother to one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Van Valin; her father, Edward Roushey; her mother, Ethel Mae Roushey; her sister, Alice Palmateer; and her granddaughter, Marie Bates.
Bea was a faithful wife, following her husband wherever God led them to serve. She lovingly raised her five children, leading each of them to know Jesus as their Savior. In her later years she continued to show Jesus’ love by leading a Mom-to-Moms group for busy moms and being a strong prayer warrior.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. with funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, at the Wilmore Free Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Wilmore Cemetery at 4:15 p.m.
