Barbara Shewmaker Evans

Barbara Shewmaker Evans,88, of Nicholasville KY passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on July 5th, 2017. At 1:30pm, she was born into Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior. She lived a long and joyous life where she enjoyed working and retired from Link-Belt Cranes. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her 3 great grandchildren. Barbara loved to cook for a crowd, and she mastered making candy for all her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James VanClee Evans; brothers: Marion, J.D., Bobby Gene, and Paul Shewmaker. She is survived by siblings: Tommy, Jerry (Dana), Treffert (Evelyn), Kenneth (Bonnie), Donald (Virginia) Shewmaker and Sally Laney. Her 3 daughters: Linda McKenzie, Marsha Evans Brock, and Donna Jean Evans; Grandchildren: Brian and Rebecca McKenzie, Loriann Evans Brock, Michele (Dirk) Rasmussen, Erin (Eric) Gullette, Amy (Robby) Goins and Great Grandchildren: Madylin Goins, Hayden Gullette, and Little Rob Goins. She was blessed with many extended family, friends, and loved ones. The family will celebrate her life and welcome visitors at Betts & West Funeral Home on July 10 from 4:00 to 8:00pm .
