April Lynn Laird

April Lynn McCauley Laird, age 53, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born November 12, 1972, in Lexington, Kentucky. Leaves behind a husband, Daniel Laird, whom she was lovingly married to for nearly 34 years. A son, Cory Laird, and a daughter, Heather Laird. Her father, Gerald McCauley, and mother, Judith Johnson McCauley. Her sister, Karen Dowell, and another sister, Teresa Hennel. April was a dedicated mother and wife who was a rock to her family's foundation. She was a proud grandma to her two grand dogs, Cleo and Doo, and dog mom of her own fur babies, Cowboy, Bae, and Onyx. She loved to travel to new and beautiful places. She loved nature and camping with her family. She was a woman who faced challenges in life with grace and tenacity. Those who knew her would say she was a lovely woman and an amazing friend. April was an accountant for many years, working at American Industrial Contractors. She took her job very seriously and always ensured that payroll was completed on time. April was a daughter of Christ, and it brings the family comfort to know that she was embraced in the arms of God. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Brewster McLeod officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday morning, beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. The burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
