Antonio "Tony" Nieves

Antonio “Tony” Nieves, 97, widower of Nancy Lee Chafin Nieves, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his home on Courchelle Drive in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born in Logan, West Virginia, on November 2, 1926, to the late Serafin Nieves and Sarah Nieves. Tony was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II and employed as a preparation engineer for the National Mines Company. He is survived by two sons, Daniel (Sharon) Nieves and Scott Nieves, and a daughter, Jane (Tom) Irwin. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Leigh Nieves (Shane), Alison Serian (Justin), Morgan Hall (Russell), Logan Nieves, Evan Nieves, Drew Nieves, Bryson Nieves, and Jack Nieves, as well as three great-grandchildren, Mason Serian, Charlotte Serian, and Remy Hall. He was preceded in death by five siblings. A private military service will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve Tony and the Nieves family.
