Alice Newton Johns, age 86, widow of Billy Clay Johns, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods. She was born on February 18, 1939, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Ernest Newton and Jane Henry Newton. Survivors include two children, Angela McBride and her husband, Bob, and Jeffrey Johns and his wife, Sheli, four grandchildren, Cody McBride and his wife, Allison, Nick McBride and his wife, Savannah, Lauren Johns and Emily Johns Lyons, and her husband, Jacob. Additional survivors include four great-grandchildren, Kailey McBride, Kenneth McBride, Kendrick McBride, and Juliette McBride, two sisters, Carol Feck and her husband, Richard, and Ada Tanner. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James E. Newton, Dwight Newton, and Danny Newton, and a sister, Lucille Beam. The funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with Nick, McBride, Cody McBride, Jacob Lyons, Shawn Hall, Kenneth McBride, Kendrick McBride, Mike Barron, and Joshua Hall serving as bearers. The visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home. Betts & West Funeral Home is honored to serve Alice and her family in their time of need.
