Willard W Tipton

Willard W. Tipton, 87, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away December 18, 2021, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born August 9, 1934, to the late Charlie Thomas Tipton and Nannie Mae Jones Tipton in Powell County, Kentucky. After graduating from Versailles High School in 1956, he enlisted into the United States Army, where he retired after serving his country for over 20+ years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War with the 47th Artillery Brigade, receiving several Certificate of Achievements. He was truly a very kind-hearted man. He was known to his family and friends as Unc, Tip, and Grandpa. He was an inspiration to everyone he met, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was an avid gardener, taking extreme pride in his passion for gardening. He loved his Lord, his Bible, and his family. He is survived by his closest family, Lisa and Rod Lemire of Summerville, SC, and several other family and friends. A private burial ceremony will be held. Donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans in memory of him.
