Wayne “Roy” Patterson Alves, 51, husband of Penny Dawn Winer Alves of Nicholasville, Kentucky died suddenly Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. He was born on August 14, 1966 in Versailles, Kentucky to the late Govan Smith and Mary Evelyn Beasley Hawkins. He was a Navy veteran, and an avid UK fan. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking and was known as Mr. Porkchop. He is survived by four children, Ryan (Jessica) Alves, Jordan Alves, Hannah (Sam) Laytart and Ariauna Alves, stepfather, Ronald Hawkins, brother, Sammy (Missy) Alves and four sisters, Emily, Grace, Janet and Jo Ann. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Terry Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM Noon until the time of service.
