Susan Welch Miles Waters

Susan Welch Waters, 90, widow of William C. Waters, died Friday, November 18, 2011. She was a lifelong member of the Nicholasville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Susan was a member of the WMU where she served in many capacities and the Nicholasville Woman-s Club. She was retired from the University of Kentucky where she was employed in the postal service. She was born in Nicholasville, daughter of the late Rosa Anne Miles and G.N. Miles. Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Waters, a brother, A.C. (Frances) Miles, nephews, William Neal (Joyce) Cassity, Sammie (Betty) Cassity, Lester (Deana) Cassity, nieces, Jane (Billy) Teater, Mary Susan (Dale) Houk, a special friend, Dan Wentz as well as numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter C. Waters and a sister, Mary Jane Cassity. Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Whitehouse officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Monday. Bearers will be William Neal Cassity, Sammie Cassity, Lester Cassity, Sam Cassity, Dale Houk, Billy Teater and Dean Anness. Honorary bearers will be members of the Lucille Hare Sunday School Class. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Betti Erny and Litty Dean.
