Spencer Haynes Day

Nicholasville-Spencer Haynes Day, 38, husband of Genny Day and father of Drew Day, died April 26, 2014 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Spencer was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a successful manager of his body shop. He was the son of Jimmy (Amy) Day and Melanie Kim Cobb. Additional survivors include three sisters, Heather, Haley and Olivia Day, his grandfather, Louis (Louise) Day, an aunt and uncle, Anthony and Anita Day, his in-laws, Dora and Mike Sweeney and James and Jennifer Leito, two sister in laws, Samantha Leito and Taylor Sweeney, a brother in law, Jacob Leito, numerous nieces and nephews and a life long friend, Alan Houp. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Villar Day and Eulan and Helen Cobb. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Following private burial services Thursday, a Celebration of Life will be observed at the FOP building at 1097 Duval Street in Lexington from 5-8pm Thursday.
