Ruth Gillum Ake

Ruth Gillum Ake, 84, widow of James F. Ake, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at her home on East Brown Street. She was a steamstress for International Cushion. Ruth was born on May 20, 1932 in Simpson, KY to the late Chester and Eulla Parks Gillum. Survivors include her two children, Ronnie Ake and Bonnie (Osten Roe) Minix, one grandson, Brian (Kristy) Minix, and two grandchildren, Brent and Jarett Minix, siblings, Roger Gillum, Wanda Lee (Bill) Combs, Everett Gillum, Ruby Gillum Robert (Bell) Gillum, Barbara Taulbee, Ollie (Charles) Richardson, Carmie (Phil) Parks, Joe (Jan) Gillum, Judy Napier, Randall (Darlene) Gillum and other family members. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Shearer and Margie Dunn. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Twibell officiating.
