Robert "Bob" May Suell

July 7, 1917 — January 18, 2009

Nicholasville-Robert May -Bob- Suell, 91, husband of Nona Brumfield Suell, of Friendship Towers at Sayre Christian Village, a life long resident of Jessamine County, son of the late Albert and Sarah English Suell, died January 18, 2009 after a long illness. He was an employee of Ades-Lexington Dry Goods for 40 years. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge, holding many offices, also holding dual membership with the Robert M. Sirkle Lodge and was a life member of the Lexington Consistory and the Olekia Temple. He wrote and published The History of Freemasonry In Jessamine County, Kentucky and The History of Union Lodge No. 10 I.O.O.F. He was the oldest member and elder of the Little Hickman Christian Church. Mr. Suell was commissioned a KY Colonel on his 90th birthday. Surviving other than his wife are two sisters in law, Margaret Harris Brumfield and Elizabeth -Libby- Brumfield, both of Lexington. Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Baltzer and Dr. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pm today. Bearers will be Howard Downing, Glenn Teater, Jerry Lovitt, John Nickell, Jim Ed Shearer, Jimmy Bowman, John West and Mark Landis.
