Rita Ann Shelley Carter

Rita Ann Shelley Carter, 77, wife of Donald Wayne Carter died Monday, August 14, 2017 at her home. She was born February 26, 1940 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late Harold Rowlet and Ruth Mae Duncan Shelley. Rita was employed by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court and U.K. for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Shelley (Bobby) Vanderpool, a grandson, Corey (Roxanne) Vanderpool and two great-grandchildren, Charlee and Remy Vanderpool, a sister, Nancy Susan (Bill) Wagner and brother, Butch Shelley and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Carter, Jr. Graveside Burial Service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be David Teater, Clint Teater, Bill Wagner, Randy Shelley, Jimmy Cecil and Bo Juett. Honorary Bearer will be Ronnie Marsee.
