Nicholasville-Rev. John T. Thompson 87, husband of 62 years to Jeanie Walton Thompson joined his heavenly father June 7, 2012. He was the son of late Charles R & Sue Hisel Thompson. Additional survivors include his children Mark, John A (Gail), Scott (Marla)-Jessamine County, Dale (Patty)-Maryland, Daughter K Dawn Floyd (Michael)-Nicholasville, Daughter in-law Laranda Gividen Thompson-Shepherdsville, Grandchildren, Jaisa (Malcom) Miracle, Mark Erinn (Christy), Daniel (Jordan), John Will, Bryan Thompson, Laura (Cliff Minton), Nate Floyd-Nicholasville, Joshua (Lanie) Thompson-Alaska, Vincent John, Jenna (Justin) Howell, Danielle Thompson-Maryland. Great grandchildren, Addison, Kennedy Thompson, Malin & Emma Miracle, Andrew, Ben, Cameron, Nicholas Thompson-Nicholasville, Alivia & Austin Thompson-Alaska. 2 sisters Hazel Hamilton-Lexington, Jewell Smith-Wilmore, 1 brother Gordon (Dorothy) Thompson-Wilmore. He was preceded in death by son Stephen Ray Thompson, Kitty J. Thompson, mother of Jaisa Miracle & Erinn Thompson. 2 brothers Grant & Robert Thompson, 1 sister Lucille Snowden. He Served in WWII as flight instructor & pilot. He graduated from Clark Co. High, Georgetown College & Baylor University. He was ordained Nov 1954 by Boones Creek Baptist Church. During his 50 years as minister he served the following churches; South Irvin, Mt. Pleasant, Shawnee Run, and Devondale Baptist Churches retiring 2002. He taught Old Testament & History 38 years at Lexington Baptist College. Member of the Edgewood Baptist Church. Services will be Noon Tuesday June 12, 2012 at Edgewood Baptist Church, Nicholasville with burial to follow at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville conducted by Brother Steve Sholer. Visitation will be from 4-9pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations to the Baptist Faith Missions, P.O.
