Rachel Meyers Canter

Rachel Meyers Canter, 91, widow of Ray Meyers and her former husband Sam Canter, died December 27, 2012. She was a life long farmer and a member of the Little Hickman Christian Church. She was a native of Jessamine County, daughter of the late Bill Gayhart and Hannah Peel Gayhart. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy G. Teater, a nephew, Billy (Jane) Teater, nieces, Wanda Cassell and Dorthea (Jesse) Lemay, great nieces and nephews, Tonya (Shawn) Clagett, Angie Lafferty, Lance Hager, Hannah and Ryan Stevens, Kyle and Ashley Thompson and Brently Lemay, great great nieces and nephews, Allie, Andy, Andrea and Will Clagett, Owen Lafferty and Katherine Ruth Floyd. Services will be 11:00am Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Baltzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday. Bearers will be Billy Teater, Robert Williams, Jesse Lemay, Ryan Stevens, Woodrow Friend Jr. and Bobby Watts. Honorary bearers will be Margaret and Butch Fugate, Roy Williams, June Humphrey, Kurt Stevens, Paul Floyd, Billy House, Steve Gayhart, Charles Eades, Michael Thompson and Chuck Canter.
