Ned Slone, 72, husband of Ruth Burton Slone, of Nicholasville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Feds Creek, Kentucky on January 4, 1951, to the late Joe and Eddist Harris Slone. Ned worked for the Jessamine County School System for thirty-three years where he served as a Teacher, Principal, and School Administrator. He is survived by his wife Ruth, a son, Nedrick Seth (Monica) Slone, a brother, Joe (Mary) Slone, and a sister, Ercie (Dan) May. He is preceded in death by a sister, Delphia Chaney. Services will be Monday, March 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Katherine Redmond officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Dan May, Larry May, Wallace Burton, Brandon Meyer, Tyler Burton, and Nick Burton. Honorary bearers will be Larry May, Danny May, and Bill Chaney. Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve the Slone family. An online guestbook is available at www.BettsandWestFuneralHome.com.
