Nancy H. Pope

Nancy H. Pope died on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the age of 97. Born in Bourbon County to the late John Samuel and Grace Kenton Herrington. She was the widow of George W. Pope, being married for almost sixty nine years. She was also preceded in death by her six brothers. Survivors are her two daughters, Gracia (Tom) O'Brien of Lexington, KY and Lindsay Walker of Nicholasville, KY; four grandchildren, Erin O'Brien, Alexa (Randy) Brown, Andrea and Matthew George Walker; a great granddaughter, Ainslee; and numerous special nieces and nephews. She was happy being a homemaker, raising her children and other relatives as her own. You could always find her gardening or reading a book by the fire. Nancy was a member of Nicholasville United Methodist Church for over fifty years, the Wise Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, the Ruth Hager Circle, and for thirty five years she was a member of the '4-H Mothers' Homemakers Club in Jessamine County. She loved her family, her church, and serving whenever asked. Service will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 until 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Bearers will be Wayne, David, Darryl and John Herrington, Tom O'Brien, and Bill Heichelbech.
