Mary Ruth Singelton Mavis, 75, widow of Donald Clark Mavis, died Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was the daughter of Floyd and Margaret Basham Singleton. Mrs. Mavis was a former teacher at Stonewall Elementary School, a member of the Wilmore Free Methodist Church having been active in the choir and Sunday school program. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son and his wife, Randall Scott and Melissa Mavis, three grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth, Raegan Noel and Kari Beth Mavis. Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Diddle officiating. Burial will be in the Wilmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon-2:00pm Wednesday.
